PROJECTS
ARIDIO GARICA LEAGUE
2018
ALTAMIRA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Starting in November 2018, we teamed up with the Aridio Garcia League in Altamira, Dominican Republic for our first campaign.
Since 1998, the Aridio Garcia League has not only provided a system for the youth in rural northern Dominican Republic to play baseball competitively and perform in front of scouts, but also was an outlet to teach these children the values of honesty, respect, equality and loyalty.
The league's biggest youth tournament takes place at the end of each year. For the tournament, Play Inspired covered the fees and paid for uniforms for all 60 players across 4 teams. Additionally, we paid for the trophies and collected/transported seven boxes full of new and gently used equipment for use.

BOYS & GIRLS TOURNAMENTS
2019
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
In 2019 - we returned to the Dominican Republic to host a boys baseball tournament as well as the first ever all-girls softball tournament in the region.
With the generous help of many domestic youth leagues and charitable donations, we were able to organize almost a dozen boxes worth of baseball and softball equipment in addition to jerseys for the kids to be able to use.
The boys tournament consisted of players from Altamira, La Escalerta, El Copey and Los Caños. The girls tournament featured players from Altamira, Rio Grande, and Quebrada Honda. Play Inspired covered the costs for all to participate, transportation of all equipment, and the trophies - which were well-deserved… especially by the winning Altamira team in the girls softball tournament with their 24-23 victory in the championship game.

CONCORD BASEBALL LEAGUE
2020
úTILA, HONDURAS
For our project in 2020, we collaborated with Support Utila. Support Utila is a 501(c)3 organization that focuses on raising funds and receiving donations to help procure medical supplies for the island community off the coast of Honduras.
In light of postponed/cancelled baseball seasons and the inability to travel during the COVID-19 global pandemic, we teamed up with Support Utila to support the efforts of the Concord Baseball League. This league provides a safe and organized outlet for the children of Utila to be able to play the sport they love as an escape during this time of health and economical hardship.
Thanks to the help of our supporters, we were able to ship boxes full of equipment and clothing for them to use for their upcoming season.

PELOTA CALIENTE LITTLE LEAGUE
2021
CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA
In 2021, our efforts were still relatively stifled due to the ongoing global pandemic, however we were still able to identify an organization to help. In the Spring, we sponsored a team of 11-12 year old players in the Pelota Caliente Little League in Cartagena, Colombia.
Pelota Caliente not only organizes little league seasons locally in Cartagena, but also provides players with the opportunity to compete in other cities across Colombia, but also internationally against other teams in various Caribbean countries.
To add a cherry on top - the Play Inspired sponsored team won the Championship for the Spring Season of the Pelota Caliente League!

LIGA MUNICIPAL PLAZA DE CUBA
2023
HAVANA, CUBA
In 2023, we traveled to Havana, Cuba in conjunction with the Havana Funk Expedition. Havana Funk Expedition is an incredible program curated by The Trombone Shorty Foundation and Cuba Education Travel, where teenagers from New Orleans are brought to Havana and do a musical exchange with students of the Guillermo Tomas School of Music.
On this trip, we were able to transport two full boxes of new or gently used equipment and clothing to donate to La Liga Municipal Plaza of Havana for their 9-10 year old teams. These kids, regardless of their limited resources, showed an incredible amount of drive and talent at such a young age. One player, in fact, is already a member of the Cuba National Baseball Team and will eventually be playing on their big stage in years to come.
